  I like Uzbekistan. 5 stars just because I like Uzbek people. Anyway very close to the Old City.

  Water pressure poor & internet connection intermittent at best, continually dropping out. Good location outside the city walls, easy walking back to see the sights

  This is a good value for money no thrills hotel offering a major plus: a swimming pool. A little bit soviet flavour remains, but this does not for staff which is very friendly and helpful. It is conveniently located at the South gate, so just a couple of minutes walking from the old centre.

  We went at this hotel to withdraw cash yesterday. The hotel staff at the entrance advised us to go at the bank office inside the hotel. We have been ripped off there. More than 20% of the money we asked was missing. How can we trust an hotel in which staff and bank seem to be in cahoots? There are plenty of hotels in khiva, and staff there are for sure more trustworthy.
