::Ayaz Kala is a windswept and eroded fortress in the region of Karakalpakstan. Now it presides over empty desert in a region not many are fortunate to visit. It's starkly beautiful however, and worth visiting (along with other ruins), on a day trip from Khiva, or to stay overnight in the nearby yurt camp.

::Very nice place and easy to access to via tours organised in khiva. Amazing walks around the camp, but STAY AWAY FROM THE FOOD. Food poisoning guaranteed
